  • i REALLY ENJOY YOUR SAFETY TOPICS AND NEWS LETTERS. i ALSO FEEL THAT YOU CAN’T STRESS SAFETY ENOUGH, ONE INJURY IS TOO MANY, AND MOST ARE PREVENTABLE.
tHAT BEING SAID I WORK FOR rIPLEY TOOLS AND WE MANUFACTURE HIGH PRECISION HANDTOOLS TO PREPARE CABLE FROM FIBER OPTICS ALL THE WAY UP TO 138 KV HIGH VOLTAGE. i WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD INTRODUCE THE SAFETY TOPIC TO DISCUSS THE PROPER CABLE PREPARATION TOOLS?

      Justin,
We could likely do that. Do you have some information that you can send me so that I can better prepare and use you company as an example?

We work with the compressed gas cylinders. (OXYGEN, CARBON DIOXIDE, HELIUM, NITROGEN, ARGON, WELDING MIXES, ACETYLENE, PROPANE, ETC)

There is a lot OF THINGS THAT CAN, SHOULD, AND MUST BE DONE TO ASSURE EVERYONES SAFETY AROUND THESE. WETHER FLAMMABLE OR NOT, THESE CYLINDERS ARE A HUGE THREAT IF NOT HANDLED, STORED, OR TRANSPORTED PROPERLY!

I always welcome your emails for safety topics and newsletters. In my work environment we have conveyors in almost every room. We have had a few incidents where people have had their fingers pinched; thankfully nothing serious. What information do you have regarding conveyor safety.

      Anne,
Thank you for your question. Because many of my Hazard Recognition and COntrol Workshops are held for all employees at coal plants across the nation (Many are PRB Plants) we discuss conveyors and the need for inspection of guards and barriers, not to mention LO/TO when working on them. Conveyors provide for many injury opportunities.

Maybe I need to write this up…

      Thanks again,
      Carl

      Anne,
I also wanted to tell you that two major food manufactures have held my Hazard Recognition and Control Workshop. If you want to discuss what I learned with them, email me at carl@potterandassociates.com and we can set a time to talk on the phone.

      Thanks,
      Carl
